When it comes to technology and gadgets, we have a lot to look forward to in 2023. From virtual reality and mobile phones to televisions and cars, there is something for everyone. Continue below as we highlight some of the most anticipated tech to come in 2023.
Apple VR Headset
Virtual reality headsets are nothing new and they have been in plentiful supply for many years. However, the Apple VR headset marks the first official move into virtual reality for Apple and that makes it a big deal. Rumours are rife that we will see the first Apple virtual reality headset in 2023 and although it will not come cheap, there are some potentially exciting features to justify the price tag. The Apple VR headset could boast dual 8K screens which means it will offer four times as many pixels as the leading competitors in the virtual reality headset market.
Google Pixel Fold
Much like Apple, there is always a lot of expectation when Google launch a product for the first time and the Google Pixel Fold is no different. This will be the first foray into the foldable mobile phone market for Google and the device is expected to release in the second half of the year. When the phone is folded, it is a 5.8” mobile phone but when unfolded the display extends to 7.6” and it is fully immersible. The Google Pixel Fold could be the thinnest foldable phone of all time and the triple rear camera system looks fantastic. The FHD+ Full High Definition OLED Smooth Display up to 120 Hz and Google Tensor G2 processor makes the Google Pixel Fold great for gaming, whether that be the latest racing game or online casino games.
Meta Quest 3
The next major hardware offering from Meta looks set to be Meta Quest 3. With the Meta Quest 2 headset now several years old, it is the perfect time for Meta to release their new virtual reality headset as the Meta Quest Pro did not quite hit the spot. Superior features and more power are the two main hopes from Meta Quest 3, with hand tracking and eye tracking being two of the key improvements from previous headsets. The launch of Meta Quest 3 may come in the final quarter of 2023 and it will be interesting to see how it compares to the Apple VR headset.
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is already here and available to use online. However, there is more to come in 2023 as people can create anything from fictional stories and essays to pieces of art and 3D objects. Having the ability to conduct research, write papers, and produce images by typing in a few simple prompts has changed how students, teachers, artists, and developers go about their business. Investment in the generative AI sector was huge in 2022 and is expected to continue throughout 2023. Hardware specifically for use with AI is already in the works and we should see more information towards the end of the year.
