Netflix finally takes on Project Runway along with new competition series which has been hosted by Queer Eye star
Netflix is now launching its new Project Runway along with bringing in Queer Eye’s Tan France to host. While the whole Project Runway has become one of the most popular reality shows which focused on fashion. This franchise is now in Season 17 and is one of the biggest reality shows that ever hit the TV.
The Next series of Netflix is “Next in Fashion” which is the streamer is targeting a younger audience. This show will be hosted by Tan along with Alexa Chung, an icon designer, and popular Instagrammer. The prize to win the show is not exactly New York Fashion Week but to sell a huge collection with luxury e-retailer Net-a-Porter.
Very similar to Project Runway, this series will be starting with a total of 18 designers who will face different challenges to win the trophy. Next in contenders working with different brands so that they can grow and dress A list celebrity. This show is very similar to Top Chef but for the fashion industry.
The first season will come with 10 episodes and will bring along judges like Elizabeth Stewart. Eva Chen, the director of fashion partnership at social media platform Instagram will also be a part of it. This series will be produced by the old school and is executive produced by Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton, who is also the co-executive producer Adam Cooper.
This is the last joining in the Netflix growing line-up of Reality shows. Some of the other shows which Netflix is bragging about are Queer Eye or Marie Kondo’s Tidying Up. Netflix is doing exactly the things that are working in the TV business. There are almost all types of shows available on Netflix, which you will probably watch on cable TV.
It was just time that Netflix turned all the TV shows formula and copy them in the platform to gain views. The concepts are not original, but it is working fine for Netflix because their viewership is going up.
