Lyrics On Google’s Results Page Will Appear With It Source Page

Google was recently accused by Genius for copying their lyrics. Since this is a serious accusation, Google is definitely not sitting idle. In response to this, Google has decided to soon attribute the third-parties providing lyrics. This will let you know where the lyrics have come from. Not just that, but it will also direct any complaints directly to the third-party providers instead of Google.

In their defense, Google has also stated that they do not crawl or scrape sites to find lyrics. Instead, they license the lyrics from outsiders. The lyrics are also automatically updated as soon as any corrections or changes are made to it.

One of the main suppliers of lyrics to Google, LyricFind has claimed that they have not copied any lyrics from Genius. The company even argued that the exact lyrics are available in other sites as well. They claimed that they have taken the lyrics from another company that was using Genius lyrics without the company’s permission.

However, this hasn’t solved or calmed the issue at Genius’ office. But this definitely shows the messiness involved in lyrics search. There are several companies that provide lyrics and it is actually not possible to find out who’s’ honest and who’s not.
