How Lohri Festival is Celebrated?
The common thing which one should know that this festival is celebrated in the evening time. Different materials like peanuts, jaggery, sesame seeds, and gajak are mostly used in Lohri. People create a kind of fireplace in an open area near their house. Peanuts, gajak, sesame and maize materials are circled and throw down into the fire. Moreover, people organize some programs like singing folk songs near the fire. Lohri is considered as an important festival for newly married people because it is said that when a newly married couple prays in front of the bonfire of Lohri for their family, their wish certainly would fulfill.
